My name is Cristina Vitellone, and I am a qualified nutritionist and herbalist.
I have started my journey in this field several years ago as I wanted to know how I could address my weight issues and what foods should or should not consume in order to achieve this. I have started with a course at my local adult learning centre run by a wonderful naturopath that inspired me to learn more about this topic.
As a result, I have enrolled after a few months in my degree course and since then I have been on a learning path. In the meantime, I have made plans to become a mother as I was reaching my 30’s and this led me to be more interested in preconception, pregnancy and postnatal care and found how diet and lifestyle choices play an important role for both mother and baby. My special interests focus on female health in general and mother and baby health.
As a nutritionist and herbalist, I strongly believe that food and lifestyle choices are important in preventing and managing illness and that natural medicine therapy has a big role in achieving this. That’s why I went further in my studies and studied Western Herbal Medicine, as I really like how medicinal plants work in achieving health and balance in the body.
As a nutritionist and herbalist, I work holistically to get to the underlying cause(s) of health conditions as I spend time listening to your whole story. The beauty of western herbal medicine is that it combines traditional knowledge with the latest science to provide individually tailored formulas, which will enhance your vitality, health and wellbeing in the long run.
Western Herbal Medicine is the use of medicinal plants for therapeutic purposes and it is the oldest form of medicine that has been practised by many cultures for thousands of years. It is a holistic form of medicine that not only treats the symptoms but addresses the underlying causes of the condition. Herbal medicines are prescribed in the form of liquid extracts, infusions, powders, tablets, capsules, or external preparations such as lotions, creams and ointments.
